Making Connections. Empowering Youth. More about us »

Being a mentor is a hugely gratifying and rewarding experience. It’s a rare opportunity to build a relationship with someone outside of your normal circle of friends and colleagues, introducing you to a whole different side of the Jackson community…I highly recommend becoming a mentor to anyone interested in getting more involved in our community and making a huge impact on the life of a young person.

— Carolyn Reeve, mentor since 2008

Migrations Film Screening & Discussion with producer Geoff O'Gara

Thursday, November 17, 2011, 6:30PM @ Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center Auditorium Grand Teton National Park

FREE

Join the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance and producer Geoff O’Gara for a screening and discussion of the PBS documentary “Migrations.” For thousands of years, pronghorn have migrated from the valley of Jackson Hole over the Gros Ventre Mountains and down the Green River Valley as far as the Red Desert and the I-80 corridor. Ranging hundreds of miles, it’s the longest wildlife migration on land in the lower 48 states. But now the migration corridor is criss-crossed by roads, fences and other migrators – including people traveling back and forth to second homes, drilling rigs and tourist destinations. “Migrations” traces the pronghorn’s challenging, scenic wildlife journey by helicopter and foot, and explores with biologists, energy industry officials and historians the past, the present, and the precarious future of this crucial crossroads.
